Camp Wonderland (Sangla )
Gods created this beautiful valley where each nook and corner has so much to offer in terms of beauty and mystic. Sangla meaning blazing light. It is true to its meaning for as you entre this valley the beauty greets you . It hits you like a blaze of burning sun .

Where the houses are made of wood with a lot of carving. People are simple and helpful. Life is hard in the hills and Sangla is no exception.

The valley has a rich tradition of culture legends and myths. Hindusim and Buddhism are the main religion in the area.People believe when Pandavas where in exile they had spent some time here , for few findings support this theory.

Polyandry is follwed here i.e. the bridegrooms brothers automatically becomes the husbands of the bride. This was done to protect the name and property of the family from divisions. Though this custom is on the decline.

The beauty of kinnauri women has mentions even in old books where their beauty was used to entice the enemies. Even in folk lore it is said as the people of Kinnaur were knows as Kinners half way between human and gods. Therefore the kinnauri women's beauty would even shake the faith of the saints and devtas.

The beauty of Sangla has brought many to this valley and many treks have been explored. One can go from short treks to hard and long treks in this valley. For one can see in different seasons the valley of flowers , lakes, glaciers , crevasses, forest , wild life, wild pine nut forest etc. There is something for every one of all age group from adventure to beauty.

The valley is connected with Garhwal by several passes The Shinka, Kimlay and Borsu Passes lead to the famous Har Ki Doon Valley. The trail over Lamkhaga pass descends to Harsil (2,620m) near Gangotri on the banks of the Bhagirathi River. Another trail branches off at the base of Lamkhanga Pass, climbs up to the pass at an height of 5151m , cross over to Harsil road-head near Gangotri.

We at Adventurehills have setup a base camp at Sangla village . The camp is situtated next to Baspa river on the otherside of the town. You are in the midst of the forest area. Where the jungle is behind you. River in the front and the ranges right ahead . A huge flat land next to Kashmir the local name for the area where the camp site is located. You cross the bridge near the village and walk up to the power house and cross a small wooden bridge on the rivulet coming from Sangla Kanda to reach Kashmir where there is a trout farm which was set up way back in the seventies. One can obtain fishing licence from Fisheries Officer.

A walk through the forest for another 30 minutes and you are at Camp Wonderland , the beauty of the camp hits you like a tornado for the area just opens up in front.

The camp has the amenities a adventure camp would have. Alpine tents are spread in a systematic manner. On the far end few luxury tents for those who want to enjoy beauty in a lavish manner, yet have the peace and tranquility of the camp can enjoy their luxurious stay. Small medication corner has been made for those who would like to gather their thoughts and meditate to be in one with the almighty.

Those would like to indulge in adventure there is Burma bridge, Monkey crawl, Tarzan swing rock climbing, rappelling, traversing and river crossing. In early May one can even enjoy snow games, snow craft, tunnels etc. You are always in the hands of professional who are at to guide and train you when you are taking part in adventure activities.

From the camp one can go for jungle walks, short trek to Sangla Kanda, or begin your long treks from this base camp where you are put under training before venturing on your journey of long treks.

Our meals are delicious and scrumptious for our cooks are trained in the art of culinary. They offer from local traditional to continental food but keeping in mind that you are in nature therefore the meals should not disrupt your lifestyle at the camp.

Small curio shop for those who would like to purchase the daily needs while in camps from torches to camera rolls or something to satisfy your hunger pangs of chips of colas. One can even buy the local produce of rajma, saffron and the local ethnic products like shawls, jewelry wooden and metal carved articles etc.

Camp Bramh Kamal (Sangla Kanda)
A walk of 7 kms from the base camp Wonderland to camp Brahm Kamal at Sangla Kanda is a transformation from wonderland to mystic beauty. Trekking thorough forest when one reaches Kanda the beauty of the place greets you like magic. The wand of magic is spread all-round for you can see the lake Nagin with its swirling water pasture all-round. This is the main farming area of Sangla village. Almost every one owns lands here for farming. From olden times for 6 to 8 months the people of Sangla village migrate here to tilling their land. With the passage of time few have started spending the whole year here. Few have built houses though shepherd hut of each family can be seen spread all-round the area. One can see the beautiful ranges from this point.

Our second base Camp Bramh Kamal is situated here offering the best of facilities one can seek at this height. Alpine tents for your comfortable stay. A lot of adventure activities to keep you busy during your stay.

In this camp a lot of local herbal products are used in the preparation of meals, ranging from herbal teas of various varieties to vegetables. All these are produced organically. No chemical fertilizers are used. For all those who are health conscious this is the right place to be, for meals, the air and the surrounding all help in the rejuvenation process of our mind and soul.

Camp Heights (Hatu)
Hatu at a height of 10500 feet. You are just hand away from touching the sky for you are at great heights. The camp is situated in the midst of jungle on a small flat clearing in the middle. One can see the snowline each morning as you step out of the tent. With a wide variety of flora and fauna to explore when in camps this camp is ideal for those looking for nature at it's best. Hatu has one of the best sunset in the world . The whole area just covered in simmering red gold when the sun is setting behind the ranges.

The camp has much to offer for adventure lovers in forms of rock climbing with almost all kinds of technical rock available in the vicinity of the camp. Rappelling and Jumar is another adventure to look forward too. With a range of amny adventure act ivies planned one can go for a longer duration of camping at this camp.

Camp Wild ( Churdhar)
Camp Wild where whispering breeze lulls you to sleep and the chirping of birds wakes you up. Roars of the wild life bring in the adventure and the thrill of the jungle.

The day brings in its own charm with mystical jungle strolls, where the sun rays plays hide and seek touching you gently caressing with its golden touch. Lucky few can get glimpses of the rare flora and fauna peeking at nooks and corners.

This is the Wild camp where the creator in you awakens in the lap of nature and you are ready for some writing or painting or maybe a poem.

Horse ride for those who want to explore the jungle on their back. It's the place to be for long or short breaks from our daily hectic life and rejuvenates those tired bones and clear all the mental blocks. This a a botanical paradise with much of rare herbs and plants found at each nook and corner of the sanctuary.
Churdhar the famous peak where one can go for trekking is at an height of 11000 approx. The place has a natural lingam of Lord Shiva.

Camp Orchard (Chail) Situated about 6 km from Chail, at over 2,600 meters altitude, The Orchard camp Chail is 400 mts from the main road. With orchard all round. An ideal camp for those who would like to do a see at the apple orchards at close hand. With plenty of natural adventure activities in the area one is kept busy through out the stay. Night view of Shimla in the night reminds one of a diwali day with so many candles flickering in the night. During the day one can have a clear view of Chur Chandni range .

Jungle Camp Kasauli
77-km from Shimla and 35-km from Kalka, at 1,927m, Kasauli is a quaint little town that seems to exist in a time wrap of an era that reminds one of the 19th century. Its colonial ambience is reinforced by cobbled paths, quaint shops, gabled houses with charming facades and scores of neat little gardens and orchards.
