Feel the Holy River, Ganges, and experience Khajuraho, the city of stunning and erotic sculptures. Khajuraho is a true preamble to India's Erotic Arts. Arranged is an exclusive rickshaw ride for you through Old Delhi. The city will surprise you with its diverse architecture and twisting lanes, small streets and crowded bazaars. The city of Banarasi Silk, Banarasi Sari, and wonderfully woven carpets, Varanasi (otherwise known as Banaras) is also a centre of learning and knowledge and is known as the "City of Light'. You can pay a visit to Sarnath, the birthplace of Buddhism, too! From the cradle of spirituality you fly to the place that depicts everlasting love - the Taj Mahal at Agra. You'll also visit Jaipur the many Jain temples of Udaipur and the Chamukha Temple - with 1444 pillars and no two pillars alike! Day 1: Arrive in Delhi Arrive at Delhi's International Airport. Upon arrival, you will be received by a representative and transferred to your Hotel. Check in to the hotel. Overnight stay at hotel Day 2: In Delhi After breakfast at the hotel, your day will start with a tour of Delhi, the capital of the world's largest & most vibrant democracy, India. Enjoy a cycle rickshaw ride through the busy markets of old Delhi. Visit to wonders of Delhi - Red Fort, Raj Ghat, Jama Masjid, Chandni Chowk, Humayun's Tomb and Qutab Minar. Day 3: Delhi - Varanasi Morning, after breakfast leave for the Airport to board your flight to Varanasi. Upon arrival at Varanasi check into your hotel. Enjoy a half day excursion to Sarnath Temple. Sarnath symbolizes the birth of Buddhism. The museum at Sarnath is amongst the most important in India and contains carvings representing a whole range of styles which covers the work of sculptors from the 3rd century B.C. to the 12th century A.D. Overnight stay at the Hotel. Day 4: Varanasi - Khajuraho Enjoy an early morning boat ride on the river Ganges, one of the hightlights of Varanasi visit. After breakfast and check-out at the hotel proceed for a brief tour of Varanasi city. Leave Varanasi to catch the flight to Khajuraho. Your half day tour of Khajuraho, visit the world famous temples built by the Chandela kings between 950 AD and 1050 AD. Do not miss the Chaunset Rogini Temple dedicated to Goddess Kali. The Mahadev Temple, Chitragupta or Bharatji Temple with a lovely image of 11-headed Vishnu, Vishvanath and Nandi Temples, Lakshmana Temple, Vishva Temple dedicated to Shiva. Overnight stayed at Khajuraho. Day 5: Khajuraho - Agra Breakfast at the hotel. Spend the morning at leisure or enjoy an ayurveda massage at the local ayurveda centre. Transfer to the station to board the train to Agra. Upon arrival check in at the hotel Overnight stay at hotel. Day 6: In Agra Breakfast at the hotel Enjoy the city tour of Agra. Visit the Taj Mahal and Agra Fort. Afternoon free for independent activities. Overnight stay at hotel. Note: ENTRY TO TAJ MAHAL IS NOT PERMITTED ON FRIDAYS Day 7: Agra - Jaipur Take an optional sunrise visit to the Taj Mahal. After breakfast, drive to Jaipur. Enroute visit Fatehpur Sikri - The deserted red sandstone city built by Emperor Akbar as his capital. Upon arrival in Jaipur, check-in to your hotel. Day 8: In Jaipur Breakfast at the hotel. Jaipur is one of the main centers for shopping in India -- especially with regard to textiles, jewellery, stones carpets, etc. Depart for a half day excursion to Amber Fort. Amber Fort is a marvelous example of Rajput architecture with its terraces and ramparts reflected in the Maota Lake below. After lunch, venture back into the city. Visit the City Palace Museum where you can see an imposing blend of traditional Rajasthani and Mughal Art. Visit to the City Palace Museum, Jantar Mantar (Observatory) and Hawa Mahal (Palace of wind). Enjoy the elephant ride and an afternoon city tour of Jaipur. Overnight stay at Jaipur. Day 9: Jaipur - Udaipur After breakfast transfer to the airport for the flight to Udaipur. Later in the day, enjoy the city tour of Udaipur - the city of lakes. Enjoy the boat ride on Lake Pichola after a visit to the City Palace Museum. The City Palace is a marvel of marble and granite. The largest palace in Rajasthan, its exquisite workmanship makes it a must on every visitor's itinerary. Overnight stay at Udaipur. Day 10: Udaipur After the breakfast drive 3 hours outside Udaipur to visit the temples of Ranakpur. A day excursion to Ranakpur Jain Temples. Spend the afternoon at leisure after lunch. Overnight stay at Udaipur. Day 11: Udaipur - Delhi Breakfast at the hotel. Depart for flight to Delhi. Transfer to your hotel and spend the rest of the day at leisure. Overnight stay at the Delhi. Day 12: Depart Delhi Early morning transfer in time to Delhi Airport to connect to your onward flight. |
